Flavia is a walnut chair that translates the Roman Colosseum into the domestic scale, transforming monumental architecture into an everyday object. The project is an experiment in domestic monumentalism, exploring how design can evoke, through an object, the sense of memory and contemplation associated with a monument.
The Colosseum serves as the project’s morphological reference in its present-day form.
Its structure is reinterpreted through a sequence of three arches in the backrest and two in the seat, reducing its architectural language to a few essential elements.
